We present to your attention the latest news from the world of cryptocurrency!

Mastercard received a multicurrency blockchain patent

The story:

On October 9, American financial services giant Mastercard was granted a patent for a method to partition a blockchain so that it can store multiple transaction types and formats.

Details:

Modern blockchain systems retain transaction records in separate blocks that make up a chain, “often required to be of the same format and include the same types, and sometimes even sizes, of data.”

Now, imagine a company that wants to use blockchain technology to store different kinds of data or use multiple cryptocurrencies for their business. Consequently, this company will also have to be able to afford all the extra resources and computing power involved.

The patent proposes to solve the problem with the “partitioned blockchain” and describes in general terms how block generation and storage of transaction data will work in such a system. The patent introduces the term “subnet” for the proposed divisions, which will go consistently, but will interact in a wider, unified system.

Why it is important:

The American giant MasterCard is the third largest with a hefty 80 patent filings, surpassed only by Alibaba and IBM, which makes it a key participant of the potentially forthcoming patent war in the field of blockchain.

Blockchain is able to solve online advertising problems

The story:

Online advertising is one of the most promising markets for blockchain solutions.

Details:

In this industry there are a number of problems, such as user privacy, fraud, it is difficult to assess the effectiveness of an advertising campaign. In cryptoindustry there are projects designed to solve at least some of these problems.

One of the most famous blockchain solutions in the field of online advertising is a browser Brave. The project tracks the websites you visit and uses this information to improve targeting by providing users with tokens BAT (Basic Attention Token) for viewing ads or visiting certain sites. Therefore, the system gives the user an incentive for viewing advertising.

Decentralized advertising exchange AdEx offers a solution that focuses on the effectiveness of the campaign and minimising fraud. For direct interaction between the advertiser and a web site that publishes advertising uses smart contracts. The technology of the blockchain provides transparency of all metrics and facilitates their registration.

The AdBank platform is designed to solve the problem of fraud in online advertising. The company has patented a method of determining fraudulent actions using artificial intelligence and blockchain technology.

Why it is important:

Blockchain solutions for the industry of online advertising is not too common. Most often this is attributed to the reluctance of large companies to use cryptographic tokens due to regulatory risks. However, if the blockchain decision will prove its effectiveness in practice can be expected to increase their popularity in the coming years.

HTC Exodus blockchain smartphone, coming soon

The story:

Taiwanese electronics manufacturer HTC will present the “first blockchain-compatible smartphone” HTC Exodus on October 22.

Details:

HTC announced their plans to enter the crypto space with a “first native blockchain phone” in May, later clarifying Exodus will have a cryptocurrency wallet supporting Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), as well as the micropayments protocol Lightning Network.

The developers also promised to introduce support for Bitcoin, Ethereum and Dfinity. However, the HTC team has not yet disclosed the technical characteristics of the device.

Why it is important:

Blockchain technologies are increasingly anchoring our daily lives. Perhaps in the coming years we will not be able to imagine our life without Blockchain.
