Huawei Cloud Announces Global Launch of its Blockchain Services

The story:

Huawei Cloud, the cloud services arm of Huawei Global, has announced the launch of its Blockchain Service (BCS).

Details:

The BCS now available to a global audience on Huawei Cloud’s international website.

The service allows global entrepreneurs and developers to create, deploy and manage blockchain applications on Huawei Cloud, at a blistering pace and cheaper cost.

Why it is important:

The company claims that the BCS can be applied in most industries, including the Internet of Things, data applications and finance.

G20 Countries to Regulate Cryptocurrencies in Line with FATF Standards

The story:

The G20 Countries have signed a joint declaration, where it promises to regulate cryptocurrencies and combat its use for money laundering and the financing of terrorism in line with the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) standards.

Details:

FAFT was created by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), as a policy-making organization to fight money laundering and the financing of terrorists. The FATF began discussing ways to introduce binding rules that would govern cryptocurrency exchanges globally.

Why it is important:

Because of the digitalization of the world economy, members of the alliance recognized the need to develop an international tax system that would be relevant, as well as resistant to internal and external negative impacts.
